What type of video camera do you use?
All of our videography services use a professional High-Definition (HDV) Canon XH A1 video recorder that captures true 1080 High-Definition in 16:9 widescreen format.
If you use a HDV camcorder, can I get a HighDefinition-DVD?
The short answer is not right now. The long answer is hopefully within a year. High definition DVD technology is fairly new. Since players have only been out for about a year, burners that make high definition DVDs have only been out for months. As the price in players and burners comes down, we will be prepared to convert to full high definition DVDs.
So then what’s so great about filming in HD?
Even though the HD recorded video gets down-converted to a format that will fit on a standard DVD, the video is truly spectacular when compared to DVDs burned with standard camcorders. This is true as well for HD content recorded for Internet streaming. The quality ofthe lens and image capturing technology in the Canon HX A1 is also far superior to that found in most consumer grade camcorders. The quality of the video really is stunning.
